Krstic - a great success in the Agora

On Thursday, the star of the competition program was Ruben Brandt, Collector. The film and its staff received a roaring ovation from the audience. In his interview for national television, Milorad Krstic told that finishing the film was the real reward for him, thus other things like festival awards are only a plus.

Also, the photo exhibition Asian Lives – A Closer Look by Canada-based Ishu Patel attracted a large number of visitors. Born in India, the animation director and photographer told the audience that he shows the truth in a world full of “fake news”. He is striving for simplicity himself, which is very complicated. Only constant presence and a good observing ability allow to capture moments which take the viewer from the surface into depth. Those who see the exhibition will exactly know what Ishu meant.

One of the most popular venues was the Primanima Animation Fun Zone, where children could engage in animation, following the advice of founder and project leader Tamás Patrovits. Near to the Youth House (Ifjúsági Otthon), the African dance group Senegal Ballet performed some African rhythms and beats for the visitors.

In addition to competition screenings, the greeting of the Japanese delegate on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Japanese-Hungarian diplomatic relationships was also popular, which was presented by Ferenc Mikulás.  The Japanese delegation honoured the event with a photography album, and brought the world famous artist Yoichi Kotabe, who, among other animation products, is also the father of the Pokémon series and games.
