Péter BÁLINT is a film distribution expert. He began his career as a foreign policy and cultural journalist, then dealt with pop music publishing. He was involved in the funding of the very first private music publishing company in Hungary. From 1992, he served as the general director of UIP – Dunafilm, the Hungarian subsidiary of Universal, Paramount Picture and Dreamworks Animation studios. In the next 23 years, 500 films were distributed under his direction in Hungary.
In the recent period, since 2016, he has provided extensive advice on the distribution of Hungarian and European films. He is the chairman of the Association of Film Distributors, curator of the National Cultural Fund of Hungary’s Film Board. He is a member of the National Film Office’s Content Rating Committee.
