Dóra KERESZTES graduated at the Faculty of Graphic and Book art of Hungarian University of Arts and Design in 1977. She is engaged in several fields of visual art: painting, independent and printed graphics, book illustration, typography, poster design, stage design and animated filmmaking.
Her fine art and film artworks want to invoke the traditions of Hungarian folk culture, making them re-livable; though, they also pay attention to the conscious use of modern art’s colours and shapes, composition elements, and transformations of abstraction. She represented Hungary during several fine art biennials and animated film festivals.
Her activity in illustration and graphics were awarded with the Ferenczy Noémi Award (a national applied art award), her film directing works were acknowledged with the Balázs Béla Award (a national accolade for motion picture).
